Bush Hysterical

From his new ad:
I can't imagine the great agony of a mom or a dad having to make the decision about which child to pick up first on September the 11th. We cannot hesitate, we cannot yield, we must do everything in our power to bring an enemy to justice before they hurt us again.
What is this, Sophie's Choice? This has got to be more and more transparent to swing voters.

Heh - yea - really... it always erks me to hear him say that "the enemy" hate freedom (always in that whipsered tone of course).

If the terrorists hate freedom so much, then half the countries out there would be toast. .... I'm beginning to hate our "freedom." I can't go to and from Canada w/o being harrassed by customs. I'm so glad I stopped letting the fear of terrorism control my life on the 12th.

Thanks for the mind-ramble. :)

Is he just making up shit now? That doesn't even make sense. It's like September 11th is his only foothold on winning the election, so he's using it however he can -- but at this point, he's run out of credible ways to use it. That phrase makes about as much sense as saying, "The potatoes, oh God, the potatoes latex underwear!" Random.

Sorry to post that twice -- didn't mean to be redundant (how Bush-like of me!)

Posted by: drama girl at August 11, 2004 01:47 PM

That's ok - I removed the repetitive redundancy. :-)

Oh man, this is just absurd. Sheer demagoguery. ( I hope I spelled that properly. I seem to be batting a thousand in spelling today. I plead heatstroke.) Dramagirl has it right. The 9/11 card is the only one Bush can play, and even then, it's a desperate bluff. He's holding nothing. He knows it. We're plagued with mainstream yellow journalism. Sure, why not whip the wounded masses into a paranoid frenzy while we're at it?

If I were his aide, I'd just say, "Um... sir? Don't do empathy. You're a republican. It doesn't suit you."

A friend: "What about the choice between brandy and scotch?!" hee hee. He'd probably be more convincing with that one.

"We cannot hesitate"

Two words: SEVEN MINUTES.

Jalpuna: In a classroom full of kids - where - he could have easily been a likely target. He should've gotten his mind together, and told the kids, teachers, and press that he had couldn't read the goat book right now, and that he had to be president for a little bit... I'm trying to remember if he was informed that the first plane hit before he sat down in that small chair...

Just saw the commercial in question...ewwww...he is so beyond condescending...hey George...if you can't imagine what a parent must feel in having to choose which child to pick up on 9/11, then there's no way in hell you'll ever grasp what a parent feels when their beloved child is killed in a war that you created.

Yeah, spend 7 minutes thinking about that one!

Keith Olbermann pulls a tunesmith...refers to this commercial as a 'Sophie's Choice' issue.

hahaha... great minds!

Dude! Kieth Olberman is reading your blog! Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are walking right now. All six of them. I love the Olympics.

This truly had me scratching my head. Were the kids in the twin towers? Would picking up one kid first endanger the other?
Does this make sense to anyone?
Well whatever helps bring AN enemy to justice before THEY hurt us are okay by me.
