Ronstadt Villainized

MSNBC - Casino gives Ronstadt the boot

I don't have enough of an opinion about Linda Ronstadt to declare myself a fan, but it sure looks she got a raw deal here. For calling Michael Moore a "great American patriot" and encouraging people to see Fahrenheit 9/11, she was escorted off the property and not even let back into her dressing room. Go read.

Update: Well, well, well. I guess it's possible we might have been had. Scroll down to see an alternative take....

This is just a disgrace. We're talking about one of the most talented vocalists in the country today, a lady whose range is all over the map, and she's treated like a criminal for departing from the party line. Do you suppose the ATF will be sent in to shut down some anti-American cabarets on the Strip? "Willkommen, bienvenue...."

Um Moore is Canadian. I'm just saying...

Um, no. Michael Moore is a native of Flint, Michigan. Next!

Moore lives in a million-dollar apartment and boasts of that as well. "I walk among them. I live on the island of Manhattan, a three-mile-wide strip of land that is luxury home and corporate suite to America's elite..... "
He has not lived in Flint for years. Ms. Ronstadt got what she deserved. The audience paid to be entertained, not to be preached too.
I cannot feel any sympathy for another liberal entertainer who feels they know more than the average citizen. Good riddance to her.
BTW, I am sure that her career will not suffer. She is now a "suffering" star. Yuuuuuck.
Nuff said!

If someone could point to a source for the million-dollar apartment, preferably an impartial source that do right-wing spins at relativistic speeds, maybe I'd give that rumor a serious look.

As for Linda Ronstadt, she seems the least affected.http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2004/Jul-20-Tue-2004/news/24348468.html

So the rich are entitled to neither taxes nor free speech? Interesting. Can we tell the corporate news media to shut up then?
