This weblog entry I wrote two and a half years ago is starting to get more traffic via google and it's really heartbreaking and sad to see all the comments. I haven't written any of them back but I kind of want to, but it's probably not a wise thing to do.
Just thought I'd throw in a mention of an essay by Harlan Ellison called, "True Love: Groping for the Holy Grail." It appears in the huge Essential Ellison collection, but I'm not sure where else it might be. If you can find it, give it a try.

My favorite Ellison story is Eidolons. I think that's how you spell it. The one that mentions Djam Karet, the hour that stretches.
Posted by: tunesmith at July 7, 2004 10:32 PMYup, you spelled it on the first try. It's one of his most elegant stories, I think. Ellison refers to Djam Karet a few times before and possibly since (just FYI). Now I'm trying not to think of his script for "I, Robot."
