I've been testing that out the last week or so - if I was short on time I'd set my alarm for six hours sleep and I'd do okay. Today though, I woke up badly about 6.5-7 hours after going to sleep and I am having the damndest time concentrating on anything. I'm at a client's office today and am totally dragging.
Of course it doesn't help that we have superlite 40's big band singing on the background. Like "I've Got You Under My Skin" but with nooo energy. zzzzz...

I've never heard of this theory, but it freaks me out. Why would that make a difference? Could it just be a psychosomatic thing, like how some people think of acupuncture? True, I feel like shit if I've had too little or two much sleep, but I don't understand how the 90min. thing could make a difference. Granted, I've never believed in John Stamos either, and I just saw him on tv last night.
I think that if I had one wish, it would be that I only had to sleep 3 hours a night. If I wanted to sleep more, I could, but I could use those hours doing other things if I wanted. Yeah, that'd be a good superhero power, I think. I would also like the ability to turn common office items on my desk into plates of nachos. Mmm... office items......

Posted by: Tommy at February 6, 2003 04:25 PMThanks! And I'm serious, I read about it from... something reputable-seeming. So that TOTALLY makes it true.
Has something to do what modes of sleep we are at different times. light to REM to deep to REM to light, or something. If you wake up in the wrong phase, it's all messed up.
The other interesting thing is that if you wake up at the precise instant - like a half-second window - that you move from REM to deep sleep, YOU DIE.
