Okay, when I wrote yesterday, my spreadsheet was looking better, but the calculations weren't entirely agreeing with each other. But now they finally agree with each other. And honestly, I'm comfortably right where I thought I would be. Not comfortable yet, but making good progress. At my current average rate, I need to work thirty hours a week. I'll probably only have about twenty this week. So I'll need to ramp up a bit before time starts working in my favor again. As for this week, I will beat my 6-month rolling average this week, and I'll beat my 4-week rolling average. But both averages are behind my "hard target" (what I need to make each week to break even for the year). Since I have started, I've met my hard target two out of seven weeks. Each time I meet it, it gets easier to meet. Each time I miss it, it gets harder to meet. This will all get a lot easier if I can either increase my billable hours or get a higher average rate from my clients. So basically all I need is one more client at reasonable rates and I can relax for a while.
